As far as opening lines go, saying that being a Music Teacher was never something I thought I would be, might sound odd coming from someone who has his own music school. I grew up knowing from a very young age that the arts ran through my veins. In pre-primary I already wanted to be a musician, be an actor, be an artist. Knowing something so profound at the age of 6 really sounds weird, but that is one of the biggest reasons that I do what I do.

Knowing who I was, knowing that music would have such an impact on my life and now being able to share that with my students really is an amazing feeling. I never would have guessed how much it would mean to me to help others ignite their love for music and to help them nurture that flame. The joy of seeing my students on stage living out their passion and getting their well-deserved applause is beyond words.

I have done so much in the 30 years I’ve been alive, but nothing has ever scared, challenged or filled me with as much pride and joy as stating my business. After the school where I started my career as music teacher and taught for 7 years closed, I had two options: pack it up and try to find something else or KEEP THE DREAMS OF MY STUDENTS ALIVE and start my own school. So that is what I did.

I suppose I should sell myself here, right? But I think I’ll rather share about the ways that I have lived a life in the arts and let you all decide if you think I can help you fulfil your dreams. I’ve done 12 years of choir, participated in 6 revues, starred in 5 plays, performed in 6 musicals, took art as a subject, studied musical theatre (got a diploma and degree), done industry work (music videos, adverts, stage productions, live performances), but more than that, I have helped many students to do all of that too. Believe me when I say that I’ve sat in auditoriums watching my students shine, bursting with pride and smiling wider than their parents.

I hope to see you in class. I hope that I can also be a part of you becoming who you want to be.
